Before buying anything new, look at the covers you already own. A little reshuffling can give a familiar sofa a completely new look.
Say you have five cushions on a three-seater. Here are three ways to arrange them:
- One story, one design: all five covers in the same print and colour. Clean, calm and coordinated, ideal for a minimal room.
- One colour story, different designs: keep the palette constant but mix a block print, an embroidered cover and a textured solid. It feels layered without looking busy.
- Contrast that complements: pair two bold covers with three quieter ones that pick up a single shade from the bold print. This works well when you want one corner to stand out.
Rotate covers between your living room, lounge and bedroom too. A cover that blends in on one sofa can become the hero piece in another room.
Get the size right
Most Coral Slub cushion covers come in our standard size of 16 x 16 inches (40 x 40 cm). Always check the size on the product page, as a few designs may differ.To check your fit, lay your filler flat and measure it from seam to seam, edge to edge, without pressing it down. Your filler should be slightly larger than the cover, by about an inch. This fills out the corners and gives a full, plush look.
A filler that is the same size or smaller leaves the cover loose and the corners empty. Even the most beautiful cover looks tired on a limp cushion. Please note: we sell cushion covers only. Fillers and inserts are not included with any of our covers, and this is mentioned clearly in every product description.
Look after your fillers, not just your covers
A new cover on a flat, stale filler won't give you the look you want. Refresh your fillers every time you change or wash your covers:
- Remove the cover.
- Fluff the filler well to loosen and spread the stuffing evenly.
- Leave it in direct sunlight for a few hours. Sunlight dries out trapped moisture and helps keep the filler fresh and hygienic.
- Make sure it is completely dry before covering it again.
- Fluff it once more to restore its shape.
- Slip the clean cover back on.

Caring for your cushion covers
Cotton, however premium, needs gentle handling to keep its colour and shape. Care depends on three things: the fabric, the value addition (embroidery, zari, brocade, prints) and how often the cushion is used. Always check the wash care instructions on the product page before washing.
For most cotton covers:
- Wash in cold water with a mild detergent.
- Wash gently by hand. Our covers are machine washable, but hand washing keeps them looking new for longer.
- Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to protect the colours.
Some covers, especially those with heavy embellishment, are best dry cleaned. This is noted on their product pages.Rotate your covers every 15 days.
